Dr. Weiguang Long

Dr. Weiguang Long currently serves as the Vice President of the Institute of Chest Wall Surgery (ICWS) and Executive Committee Member of the Chest Wall Surgery Specialty Committee of the Guangdong Association of Thoracic Disease. With more than a decade of clinical practice he has managed over 2,000 complex chest wall cases, establishing a 100% cure rate for congenital chylothorax and repeatedly setting national records for combined and extreme-age procedures.

He pioneered the standardized protocol for chemical pleurodesis with povidone-iodine and developed minimally invasive lymphatic repair strategies, including localized flap transplantation and ultra-minimally invasive sympathectomy for hyperhidrosis. Dr. Long focuses on difficult lymphatic disorders, chest wall tumors, and trauma, combining meticulous peri‑operative management with multidisciplinary care to secure functional and cosmetic restoration.
